How could a person hit an animal while driving and just keep driving away? This little mink was hit by Hugos Cafe near Thunderbird Marina off of Marine Drive around 11:30 this morning. At that time it was unclear what his injuries were. Thank you to Barbara who called Critter Care to report what she seen. She tried to help but he was in shock and bleeding. He ran blindly up into the cliff side to get away from her. Around 5:30 this evening we went out there to search for him thinking he was laying on the side of the road. But he was no where to be found. Then we spotted him running frantically in the parking lot of the Marina. Laurie had everything needed to catch him and we did. Sadly this little guy had been running since 11:30 with a broken and bleeding jaw. Tonight he is being humanely euthanized. Shame on the driver who left him to suffer.
