How could the NFL avoid this quagmire in the future? Goodell - TopicsExpress

How could the NFL avoid this quagmire in the future? Goodell should not be the lone gunman in policing personal conduct. What if the NFL created a policy where the TEAMS were responsible for the personal conduct policy and the NFL held them responsible for their actions? The NFL could sanction the Ravens for THEIR behavior and it protects the shield. The Ravens should have been the ones in the first place to take action. Their own bumbling could have cost them draft picks, fines or whatever and the rest of the league could have avoided this mess. Roger Goodell ultimately screwed up by being singularly involved. The TEAMS should be forced to govern their own players and the commissioners job is to police the teams. As for Terry ONiell and NOW. I respect what youre trying to do and I understand it, but the agenda here should be to get MORE workplaces to adopt a domestic violence policy. As far as I know, there arent many places where the rules are that if you are involved in domestic violence that you lose your job - and Im not saying if I agree or disagree with an agenda that polices you outside the workplace, but if I were the leader of NOW (and I dont meet the requirements), Id be pushing for more awareness through getting the American workforce to enact similar policies on domestic violence. If you want to eliminate this behavior, dont focus on someone who screwed up, but also enacted new groundbreaking policy in this field. Instead, get the American workforce to the bargaining table and have them enact similar policy. Get the abusers to lose their jobs or force them into counselling in order to keep them. Does anyone have a better idea?
