How did I lose my job? Well, students are not allowed to use electronic devices in class. I caught a student playing games on a laptop and on his phone during my lecture. As I am entitled to do I took the laptop and mobile to my office and put them in my drawer for later collection. Upon seeing a quick buck to make a sly Thai Teacher stole the mobile out of my drawer and colluded with the student to extort money out of me for a new phone - claiming I had stolen the phone. I have never yelled so much in my life because I am not a thief. My yelling did pay off as the Thai teacher produced the phone. So having lost face (and because Thais can never be wrong) I was fired. What should I have done. Bought a new phone? Surely someone can see the miscarriage of justice here. Their action was criminal.
