How did World War 1 start? Serbian terrorists killed Archduke - TopicsExpress

How did World War 1 start? Serbian terrorists killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Serbia had alliances with Russia. Russia allied with France...france with England. Austria-Hungry was allied with Germany. The Austro Hungarian empire demanded that Serbia turn over the terrorists. Serbia did not comply quickly enough, so the Austro Hungarian Navy sent a gunboat to shell Belgrade. A horse was killed. This was an act of war, that triggered the alliances between Serbia and Russia, then the rest of the dominoes fell, engaging the entire continent of Europe into a war that cost some 20 million dead! As a student and former teacher of History, I thought it important to bring up this factiod! Apply this formula to ponder regarding to the game of pattycake we are playing with the Ruskies, and Chinese over Syria. Think hard about it before having a hardon over the idea of air strikes, and consider the big boys have nukes. You might need a stiff drink while you are at it!
