How did you get to church yesterday? Check how LCMS missionary to Papua New Guinea, Pastor Jeff Horn, traveled to church last Sunday - and he didnt get his pants wet!: The trip to preach at the congregation across the Lai River went well. I am happy to report that I continued my streak of NOT having wet pants in the pulpit. Crossing the river looks harder than it really was, although it was interesting getting on and off of these. Afterward we had a beautiful walk next to the riverbank, alongside a mountain stream, through a grove of coffee trees, and finally across a waterfall to get to the congregation. It had been quite a long time since a missionary had come there, and they were very happy. I preached on John 6. Lots of catechesis about the First Article, faith, Baptism, the Supper, and of course - Christ crucified. Hoping to go to their sister congregation next month.
