How did you spend your weekend? Command Sgt. Maj. David Davenport, Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Europe; and Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, commander, USAREUR, participated in the 70th anniversary commemoration events for the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, Belgium, Dec. 13. Seeing where these battles took place and learning what happened is something Soldiers cant learn in a leadership school, Davenport said. Seeing it is professional development. Hodges joined the Presidential Delegation, which included newsman Tom Brokaw; retired Gen. Montgomery Meigs, former USAREUR commander; and Gen. Phil Breedlove, commander, U.S. European Command (EUCOM); in touring foxholes from the battle and meeting re-enactors and veterans.
