How do we compare to Hong Kong? At Hong Lim Park, the only - TopicsExpress

How do we compare to Hong Kong? At Hong Lim Park, the only park where protests are permitted, protesters have to share it with community events like Chinese Operas and YMCA charity show. The permanent stage belongs to the community centre and renting it is impossible. The Peoples Association prefer to keep the stage as a white elephant rather than share it with the people. They refuse to acknowledge that part of the money for the building of the stage comes from taxes and the people therefore have the right to use the stage. Will Singapore protests ever reach a fraction of the size in Hong Kong? If the PAP does not tolerate even a bit of messiness but will nip everything in the bud, do protesters stand a chance? Are we back in the good old days of 1987 and earlier. What will happen next? https://youtube/watch?v=UT-TAjoE6g4
