Jeremiah Chapter 49:13 For I have sworn by myself, says the Lord, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be a perpetual wastes. I have heard a rumor from the Lord, an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather all together, and come against her (Iraq) and rise up to the battle. For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen and despised among men. Did the above prophecy ever fulfill? In the 1992 war against Iraq literally the above prophecy was fulfilled. USA and many Western countries joined together to fight against the Sadam Hussein`s regime. They did not go against his regime to fulfill the Bible. Many of the rulers don`t understand God`s word in its entirety as they do not meditate it day and night. Bozrah is the capital city of Iraq which was bombarded many days in the Desert storm raids and destroyed much of their important buildings, made it desolation and a waste land as written by the Prophet Jeremiah 2600 years ago. Thus Iraq lost much of their esteem and became a small heathen nation and it became a despised country through their suicidal bombings. It all happened because of their terribleness and pride of their heart as mentioned in verse 15. 9/11 was one of the reasons for its fall in addition to the frequent persecution of the Jews by them. Isaiah 34:1-17 says God has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom (today Edom is part of Iraq). Their land will be drenched in blood. For God has a day of vengeance – a year of retribution of the legal case of Zion (Jewish people). And her (Iraq) land will become like a burning pitch (75 oil wells were caught on fire by their own people to revenge against USA) which burned continually for several weeks covering the sky with smoke. Its smoke will keep ascending for ever (for a long time). Behold he (USA) shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs (Jeremiah 49:22). This verse says that war planes of USA whose symbol is eagle, will spread in the air like the eagles and the Iraqis will be very fearful like a woman on birth pangs. The whole chapter is fulfilled verse by verse during the 1992 Iraqi war. Yet how many people of this world know about it. Satan has bewitched them, so they are ignorant about it and continue to serve him through their idol worship. Bible says that God`s word is established for ever in heaven. Get right with God and obey His commandment that is expected from all. God wants all people turn from their wicked ways and live righteously before him. Bible is given for our teaching, reproof, correction and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequately equipped for every good work. You must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the Prophets own interpretation of things. It never had its origin in human will, but Prophets spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Satan is a liar. He deceive the humanity to spend their time with him in the lake of fire. Even if the gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that they might not see the light of the gospel. God wants to open your eyes and turn you from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that you may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in God (Acts 26:8).
