How do we reform political parties, and make them responsive to the 99%? It occurs to me that we should not be limited to belonging to any one party. I should be able to be a Democrat AND a Republican, AND a Green, AND WFP (Working Families Party). The party apparatus would then work harder to listen to the people, instead of trying to impose ideologies from above. The ebb and flow of membership shifts would serve as a barometer that accurately measures when they are getting it right, and when they are getting it wrong. There would be a greater emphasis on the competition of ideas, rather than the endless comparing of financial warchests. Try and wrap your heads around this for a moment. You feel me?
