How do you stop #ISIS? Use the [current] opportunity to reset relations with Syria and Iran, and NOT ally with kingdoms known to have helped create ISIS like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Release the pages of the 9/11 report dealing with state sponsorship, to help create the political impetus to act. Go before the Congress and the UN Security Council to get national and international approval for any intervention on the sovereign territory of Syria, Iraq, or Turkey. Coordinate closely with their military and government. Restore the Glass-Steagall separation of banking to prevent banks like HSBC from continuing to launder drug and terrorist money, and collaborate with Russia on targeting offshore money laundering centers. Thats a good start. -Ian Overton My response: Yes, it needs to be a plan that respects the sovereignty of the nations involved. also, you have to think about what radicalizes muslims: 1. western occupation 2. war crimes and torture 3. drone bombings (which constitutes institutionalized terrorism) 4. the destruction of nations and civilization through imperialism and supression of real development if you can unify these people towards the common aims of mankind, and include them in projects that give them hope for a tolerable, and maybe even prosperous future, they probably wont be so desperate and suicidal. Look at what Egypt is doing, they are doubling the Suez Canal, and investing in their people to do it. El Sisi says Egypt has an infinite capacity to make a contribution to the world. not just its own people, but to everyone. they are preparing many more projects like this to uplift their people spiritually, and economically.
