How do you then know the counsel of the Lord? There are several criteria that can help one to know a good counsel. First, such advice will give you peace and rest of mind. Second, it will follow the word of God and no one will doubt it wherever it is presented. Third, a good counsel will bring hope to you and to persons around you. Fourth, a good counsel can open you up to divine ideas which can lead to gains in your business. Fifth, when a good counsel is given, you become excited; realizing you are being delivered from error and the love of God has been shown to you once more. Don’t expect unbelievers to give you good counsel. Good counsel can be received directly by reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God. You can also get counsel can from mentors who have a track record of success in their chosen field or certain areas of life; be it marriage, ministry, raising children, business, etc. May the Lord lead you to the right persons who can give you godly counsel.
