How does Project Santa work? During the month of November, we ask - TopicsExpress

How does Project Santa work? During the month of November, we ask area schools to choose a total of 125 children (those they deem most in need) to “Shop at Kmart”. (These children shop for $75 worth of toys and their parents are given a $50 grocery gift card.) But, we don’t stop there, we also give the schools “Toy Shop” coupons to hand out (approximately 500 children are recipients of this program). These programs are possible through fund raisers and donations from people in the community. If you would like to donate to either of these programs – checks (made out to Project Santa) and new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office (or mailed) 311 Grand Ave. Bellingham, WA 98225. Thank you for your support! (If you would like your child to be a recipient of Project Santa, please contact the Community Resource Person at your child’s school in November.)
