How fantastic to be prompted to remember this. I finally got my teenage dream job to work in a record store during this time: started at SF State for fall semester 1980 (after my freshman year at UC Santa Cruz), and quickly got hired at Record Factory store at Irving & 8th. We had Bowie fanatics working in the store, and this album got played a lot - I still know every note very well. I love still playing music from it at New Wave City, and at my annual Bowie-Elvis birthday bash, AND of course playing the title track at Halloween (i.e. the DNA parties.) Yay for Bowie!
