How far do you go... Our sweet boy Clancy, has a tumor in his leg and an enlarged lymph node in the chest. Suspected causes: metastatic lymphosarcoma vs lymphoma with a benign tumor in leg. Told he Needs ultra sound with biopsy of chest node and leg mass and if lymphoma needs chemo then excision of hopefully benign leg tumor. If sarcoma would need radiation, chemo and likely amputation of Leg. Clancy is 12 and we adopted him as a spry senior shortly after we adopted our rather challenging Girl Lily. As a very well adjusted dog, he has done his best to teach her that humans are ok and how to be a dog. (She is far from well adjusted but much better than she would have been without him). We are so sad and yet knew something was up with him. Weve walked this road before with 2 other Airedales that had cancer and are questioning whether the quantity of life added, makes up for the quality lost. Hed rather be at his master Kevins side than just about anywhere else. Clancy- aka lover boy.
