How human ideal as to Phenotype, crippled a breed by purposely selecting the weaker structured dogs. When comparing a Wolf structure to a modern day sheperds structure I know which one would become lunch and it isnt the perfectly designed to run, ALL day, for years, Wolf. The old black and white photo shows a structurally sound dog that could stand up for years as a functional working dog. ALL the rest are like a Barbies ideal dog that fit into a right angle triangle have nice color, pretty faces, but are functionally useless except for show ring dogs. Note how the original sheperd moved correctly his hind leg track narrows for more efficiency with his hind feet forming a single track underneath him, and push out from under his center of gravity to move this dog along with ease for hours. The dog on the right with the de-formed gait and backline moves very inefficiently with his back legs going outward, like a duck, out and around his front feet when moved out! This dog is like a dually truck in the snow he is so inefficient! With his front legs having to drag his useless hinds along. Sorry Louis but this evolution is going in the wrong direction unless you are trying to create a new group in the dog shows called Functionless (but have nice heads and fit into a right angle triangle instead of a square.)
