How incredibly anxious you must be to get your brave babe home already! To see that sweet smile of hers these days reveals the strong, joyful heart God has given Quinn. I came across this really COOL verse a couple weeks ago & immediately thought of you Allens! Isaiah 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” What a mind blowing concept: “treasures of darkness”. As we walk through dark places – though painful, unplanned and scary – we never come out on the other side empty handed. Here God promises us treasures and riches that are stowed away in secret places, only to be uncovered in times of trial and battle (you should read up on the context of this verse, very cool). By nature we live our lives so often in the shallow exterior of God’s temple, when all is status quo. Yet there is something so unique and blessed about trials, how they push us into His inner courts, into the Holy of Holies, into that secret place when the world around us becomes muted and we see Him clearer, hear Him distinctly and cling to Jesus than ever before. There is so much hope in this word - you will KNOW God during this time and He has called you by name, knowing this chapter in your story would be one He would carry you through & equip you for. There is much to be gained in the darkness….what a privilege to watch the hand of God over you three! Both now in the trenches and in the days to come as he pours out his riches and goodness over you. Love you all, Renee
