How ironic that one of the most beloved people in my life has passed on Halloween - the gayest holiday of the year. Its not suppose to end this way. But it did. Sal DeFalco overcame AIDS, discrimination, a harsh childhood, and battled brain and lung cancer before the angels came today to collect him. Sal was bigger than life - and he taught me so many lessons like laughing at yourself and your challenges, believing in yourself when nobody else did, and most importantly learning to love yourself in all your perfect imperfections. I cant believe he is gone from this earth because it seems like yesterday that he walked into the Otherside of Atlanta - perched himself on a barstool - and we became fast friends. My heart aches for his partner Claude Tant, his beloved dog, his sisters, his family and his extended family whom he had from New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale and beyond. You were a very special person Sal - and I am blessed and grateful for to have been your friend. RIP beautiful spirit...until we meet again.
