How is everyone doing tonight, i kept my facts and opinions to myself about the Tony Stewart/Kevin Ward JR accident... i knew kevin personally and raced with kevin, there was no doubt kevin did have a temper and would let you know when you did something he didnt like, but your emotions are running high and you want to win that race admin duce asked me to post on here becuse i raced 410 sprint cars and he wanted me to give my viewing on it, and try to give people a better insite about sprint cars, first i want to start off by saying ive been around dirt racing for years i worked on a winning 358 team, ran a wrecker at the track so ive seen it all just about, not to get back to my facts/opinion, to some the tack was light up enough well from the stands it looks like its light up enough to see a person but from the seat of the car its actually alot darker then you think. The saftey equipment that we have today keep the drivers safe but doing so they have to compermise something, it could be comfort, cut down on vision,hearing sence of touch you will never get a perfect balance, tony uses a full containment seat, a HANS device and the last time i saw he was using a bell helmet if i rember correctly, when i raced i used an ultra shield full containment seat, a 30* sport HANS device and a bell gtx helmet, the Hans i used had the quick disconnects they were not the fixed tethers, i had a maxium of about 4 of movement from full left to full right about 2 each way now put that togther will a full containment seat (for the people who havnt seen one its what the nascar drivers use but i will post a picture) a helmet that limits your peripheral vision you dont have that well of a view after adding this saftey equipment, now add a wing that sticks down and extends to the front of the car you view is limited to a 6-8 in a blink of an eye you can miss anything thats in thoes 6-8 now i say 6-8 because it depends on the degree of the wing and how far the wing is back or forward. under yellow flag conditions you lean the car off which means you limit the fuel going to the motor to prevent it from loading up on fuel which could cause the car to stall, your also taking a look at your guages theres the water temp guage oil pressure guage and some even run a fuel pressure guage, sprint car racers use their hearing to tell when another racer is beside them or near them.now im going to give my input. after reviewing the tape many times the car infront of tony swerved to miss kevin which gave tony less of a chance for tony to see kevin if he even did now there saying tony reved his engine when he was near kevin we cant totally prove that we can speculate but from seeing how kevin was thrown we can say theres a chance tony did but did tony hit the gas becuse of the car boging down after initally hitting kevin and he was trying to keep the engine running, we dont know that, do we even know tony seen him? we dont tony could have been blowing the cushion up or even trying to keep the tires warm, the media made tony guilty becuse i will admit, after i read the first report it sounded like kevin was hit on purpose and i was also angry and mad at tony but after reading and watching the video there are to many what ifs to put in here, but i want you guys to step back and think for a minute, i was in the drivers seat of one of these cars i know what the view is like and whats going on while racing and under yellow conditions that could have been me hitting kevin but now that wouldnt have made it past the local news, but it was Tony Stewart and thats why this is as big of a deal as it is, i saw tony race twice at my local track and the crowd of people ther were around his hauler was un real more big name drivers would be willing to race local tracks but they bring crowds when they race, if people would learn to under stand all them guys are just like us they wake up and put their pants on one leg at a time, but now take tony stewart out of this whole incident and lets use the 45 car in tonys place what do you have filling your news feed on face book and what does the media have to report NOTHING this incident wouldnt have exploded to what it has but becuse tony was drving and hit kevin this is national news, the media made tony guilty of murder before anything else surfaced but its the fack of if kevin would have controlled himself he wouldnt be dead like i said i knew kevin and raced with kevin so im not going to blame one person more then the other becuse thats not needed, it was a freak and unfortuante accident but it happend, ill be on here for awhile you can comment and i will to to reply back and if you want to say something privately, message the page and i will try and get you a batter understanding of what happened and what its like to drive a sprint car, and if you feel like cussing me out or want to throw more facts to me and dont want to do it publicly again message the page i will respond to everyone *kreampuff*
