How is everyone on this page? Welcome to the new comers and I hope you find encouragement and a lot of resources from other members from around the United States and the world, on this page. Ive been thinking about this group and havent had the time to post anything about Eoe in a while so I am glad this page is not dependent on just me to keep in running. I am encouraged to see so many reach out and answer posts and share information. We know those who live with Eoe are brave and so are the loved ones who advocate for them and take care of them. May you feel supported as well. So as we approach another holiday surrounded by family, friends and food, maybe we could share what things or options you do to make your love one who lives with Eoe still feel a part of the celebrations surrounded by food that they may not get to eat. Do you have new traditions that you do that do not include food? Is there something you bake to accommodate? May be this is your first holiday season to deal with not being able to eat the same foods as others. Sometimes this can lead to a feeling of isolation and a reminder that you/they are different. Dont let it, instead take a deep breath, know you are loved and rather you are the care taker of someone with Eoe or you are one living on Eoe, know you are not battling this alone. If you are hosting a gathering this year and you know of some one who will be attending who lives with Eoe, take the extra time to cook or create something they can eat as it is more than the feeling of knowing you can eat something that brings a smile to their face, it is the feeling that someone took the time to care enough about what you have to deal with every time you take a bite to eat. Who knew that eating would become so complicated for so many one day. Until the day of a CURE, march on, speak up, fight and encourage.
