How is it that a person who can buy cigarettes cannot buy gas?? A woman standing in a gas stop parking lot (with said cigarette) asked me to give her money for gas. Really the verb "ask" does not apply. She TOLD me to "just give her a twenty". Something about my demeanor gave her the impression that the matter was up for negotiable because when I handed her $3.00, she informed me that she would take $5.00!!!! Clearly I gave the wrong impression . As I was driving away, the man with her (who was lying in wait at the pump for a sucker such as myself)began approaching my car holding up 2 fingers as if to say "2 more"!!! P.S. that first question was rhetorical . My healthy fear of human nature restrained any sermons. Besides, I would be torn about what sermon held the highest priority: a brief lesson in elementary money management? Or "Effective Begging Through Humility". #tiredofrudepeople
