How it all started: “I know who you are, and I need you to tell my story.” The stranger tossed out the words like throwing confetti to the wind. They seemed to have no purpose or logic. “You what?” “You’re Brock Benton, the writer, right?” Rarely had I been recognized as a writer. I was your average journeyman scribe. I was not accustomed to the honor, and I am sure blushed inwardly. And so it began, the story about a country in Eastern Europe called Urainia, and an odd fellow named Craven who became - for lack of a better term - its shadow leader. A man who was hated and loved. A man who was over-analyzed and mostly misunderstood. A man who really knew little of this, because he was, it seemed, of another world. This was to be his story, and it’s mostly true.
