How long have you been sitting down? It’s time to stand up! Better yet, get up and stand for a moment in “mountain pose.” This is simple—and it works best without your shoes on, though in a pinch, you can keep your feet firmly shoed. Stand with your toes together, and heels slightly apart. Stretch your toes as far apart as you can. Close your eyes and gently adjust your body until your weight is balanced evenly across your feet. Straighten up, so it feels as though a string sticking out of the very top of your head is being carefully pulled upward by a pair of giant fingers. Let your arms hang by your sides. Stay in this position for the time it takes to take several deep breaths. You may now return to work.
