How many are old enough to have had a shirt or dress made from a feed sack? Since we owned a dairy farm and used an enormous amount of feed, we had plenty of feed sacks. Sharbutts Feed in Kirbyville was our source at the time. My grandmother, Artie Lazenby made quite a few of them for her grandchildren. I remember wearing them to Bleakwood, circa late 50s and perhaps the early 60s. I suppose some kids who wore them were embarrassed to wear homemade clothes versus store bought. I dont recall having any issues with it......just wish I still had some of the things she sewed with love. I do have some of her quilts. I guessing some of them are close to 80 years old.
