How many of us realize that just about the time Jesus was to be born into this world, the holy angels and the inhabitants of the unnumbered worlds throughout the immensity of the invisible universe were expecting God to sweep away the inhabitants of the earth because sin had become a science and vice a virtue in the church and in the world. But they were shocked when they saw that instead of doing that He sent His Son to be born into this world to lighten the earth with the glory of divinity in the form of humanity. The record says that the Jews even saw a great light. Yet they rejected it. (John 1:10,11) This is found in the chapter THE FULLNESS OF THE TIME from the Desire of Ages, 36-37. Now are we not repeating history? Have we not, again, come to the fullness of the time? Has not sin become a science and vice a virtue and do not many expect that God is about to sweep away the inhabitants of the earth?
