How many of you are familiar with the term 10/40 window? I wasn´t until some backwoods crackpot preacher contacted Lori and she contacted me. The only 1040 window I´d heard of before was the IRS late filing counter at my embassy. Anyway, the 10/40 window is a term invented by Christian proselytizers who want to spread that Jesus guy´s message to all the people living in the area of the globe between 10° and 40° N latitude, encompassing most of saharan Africa, and the Middle and Far East, which they consider deliberately hostile to the Christian message. It just won´t take. They see a correlation between the poverty of the body and the poverty of the soul, meaning that embracing Christianity will magically lift them from poverty. One look at South, Central and even North America would indicate that no such correlation exists, since just about everyone is Christian and just about everyone is poor. Conversely, Japan seems to be doing pretty well for a non-Christian society (unless you think Fukushima was meant to punish them for refusing to embrace an all-loving Christian God). People such as Dick Snyder could be laughed-off as conspiratorial nincompoops, but the USA rolls out lunatics like this at an assembly-line rate. The American hubris of trying to retool the Earth to facilitate the return of Jesus will be the demise of us all. So don´t you dare think all this religious stuff is just helpful little hints and motivational axioms to help us deal with the daily slings and arrows of our outrageous fortunes, realize that the End Game is the deliberate destruction of the Earth. This ain´t fun and games.
