How many of you frequented the Irish League when it was worth drinking in? A huge amount of my family came over here to work when there was troubles in Ireland... Both sides of my family... Many were in the mills and then the younger generations went to work at Lamberts... The Irish League was class... I recall every single family event being held there... Upstairs in the function room... Quality nights sliding across the dance floor on my corderoid pants that resembled something that Paddington bear would don. Stealing Babysham off tables and sneaking under the buffet behind the covers bopping away to Billy Ray Cirus... Dont break my heart! (I must have been about 9!) LOL! Heres my Grandad in the middle (Jimmy Fegan) and to the right is young Biff, not sure of the fella on the left. If any of you have some nice or funny photos of the place and people who went in, it would be good to put them together :-) #IrishAndProud
