How many of you have ever felt personally victimized by Lisa Helget? 🙋 While today was exciting for me because I was graciously appointed to the Board of Equalization by Lori Bagwell, I am additionally very proud to have had unfounded claims made against me by those who also express distasteful opposition towards proponents of progress in our community. Today I was honored to be called out on a notoriously radical and inaccurate website because I look up to those in our city who have affected change and were named on the site for doing so. I have no shame in being a different kind of person than one might expect to volunteer for such a board. I feel that I am qualified by my humble ability to think logically and tune out emotion, and it would seem that the Board of Supervisors concurs. With that said, I look forward to doing my civic duty by taking my seat very seriously and dedicating myself to making the right decision at every opportunity. I am excited to get involved in my community, and that is not something worthy of discouragement. You will notice that this post is public. I am actually quite proud to have an opinion worth publishing.
