How many of you like to go out to eat? how many of you have a place that you like so much you go about once a week? now when you go to the same place do you say to the waiter I ate here last week so therefore I do not need to pay? of course not new day new food. then why is it when we go to church we say to ourselves I gave an offering last week, this week I do not need to leave anything. if we leave the restaurant without paying we would be robbing them so why do we feel its okay to rob God? (Malachi 3:8) When we eat out we have to pay for our food we do not have to pay to hear the Word of God. Now, the Lord does not want an unhappy giver . the Lord wants someone who is happy to give to him and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. He does not care about the amount. Remember the widow in the Bible? ( Mark 12:41-44) she gave all that she had which was the least amount in comparison to the rest. she knew in her faith by being thankful and blessing the Lord with her offering that she in turn would be blessed greatly. we are asked to place in more and sacrifice more than the others but not by the amount. money is something that is very important to many people. will use it for everything in this society. so yes many feel pain to give it away. lets stop feeling pain when giving money to the Lord we should be giving it to him with happiness and joy! we know that when we give to the Lord with thanks and joy our Father in Heaven is pleased with us! lets continue to give to the Lord say thank you for his word. it is his word that will sustain us an everlasting life. Our Father can gave his precious son to us to save us because he loves us. (John 3:16) he gave His only son, which I am sure pained Him, then we can separate ourselves from our pockets to say the Lord, Thank you Lord.
