How many times do I need to read some modern scholar pompously insisting that Adam and Eve were not immortal in Paradise? That this is just something later tradition read into the text rather than out of it? The lengths to which they go to discover that the Bible is, in fact, nothing special. Psst, guys. You may eat EVERY TREE of the garden except the Tree of the Discernment of Good and Evil. Psst. Genesis 3:22: Tree of Life=being immortal. Even when biblical interpretation is really easy, its up to biblical scholars to get it wrong.
