How many times have we told you to go do some homework...and how many times has that homework included going to a site like mobilitywod to get some hands on fixes to your individual mobility and movement challenges? Im going to say the answer is....a lot. There is another component to why individuals have different variations of movement patterns like the Squat, and that is what?...their basic anatomy. If youre tall and long, guess what - youre gonna make your money on the rower, but sometimes have a little more of a challenge on squatty type movements due to the fact that you are scraping the sky, have long femurs and tib/fibs, etc.. Everyone is also going to have some variation in the basic movement patterns like the squat, and this article gives some really interesting analysis of anatomy that helps to show why. IT DOES NOT, however, excuse you from doing basic (or more advanced) mobility work to maximize your own individual potential in any given movement pattern - so dont come at me later with that I cant.. crap.
