How many times have you heard someone at a church say the phrase, - TopicsExpress

How many times have you heard someone at a church say the phrase, If only one person accepts Christ, it will all be worth it in connection with an evangelistic outreach of some sort. I understand that some people are saying it just to emphasize the value of each individual soul to the Kingdom, but too many times I have heard it in an attempt to cover up the lack of numbers. Kind of like the almost universal misinterpretation of the phrase Where two or three are gathered to excuse a low turnout. I think we as believers need to be careful to not judge our work for Christ by numeric standards. First, we are not the judge of our own faithfulness. The church is not the judge of our faithfulness in ministry. Of course, the lost world is not the judge of our faithfulness. God is the one who will judge our faithfulness in ministry. It is by His standards and His standards alone we are ultimately accountable. Gods standard of judging is not found in numbers. It is He who gives the increase and we, as mere stewards are not responsible for how fertile the soil we till is. That is the land owners responsibility. The standard is our faithfulness to Christ and to His Word. If we are obedient to our call, to Worship God, build and edify the Church, Evangelize the lost, and we run the race so as to not be disqualified...if we are faithful...it will all be worth it
