How much will my tax bill go up if the Levy passes? There has been allot of misinformation out there about the cost of a mill and how much it will raise your taxes based on your homes value. We will try and help clarify that for you. The Hancock county auditor has a great tool on her website that will show you EXACTLY what any issues on the ballot in November will cost you on your home at it currently value. The link to the page is: auditor.co.hancock.oh.us/property/tax_estimator/taxest_start.aspx One there click on: start tax estimator (it is highlighted in green) then click on the circle by : I Know My: City & Street Address Parcel Number Township & School District and enter your information and click on PROCEED The next screen you simply hit CALCULATE and it will give you your information on any new levys or renewals that are on the Nov ballot and how it may increase your taxes. Example below: Property Tax Information City or Township Findlay Corp School District Van Buren LSD Property Value Used $100,000 Estimated Annual Property Tax $1,211 Annual Tax Proposed Levy $245 - New Bond Issue, 7 mills for 30 yrs commencing in 2014 CONSTRUCTING SCHOOL FACILITIES You may change the values above and press the Calculate button again to recalculate new values for the same property.
