How often have you heard a fellow believer say..... God told me - TopicsExpress

How often have you heard a fellow believer say..... God told me ...? Well...He didnt. I say that with ALL the authority of scripture. God REVEALS , He does not speak , with an audible voice, to believers today. Why not ? Because He says so. Hebrews 1:2 ► but in these last days He ( God ) has spoken to us by his Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe. He conversed with Adam in the first garden. He told Noah to build an ark. He spoke to Moses in a burning bush. He promised Abraham a son.. But does God still speak to us today? If so, how? When? Where? 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that all Scripture is “God-breathed.” His Word sometimes gives us a warning, a word of encouragement, or a lesson for life. It’s “His-story”–written with love as God’s guide for life, “so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” That means God is whispering, and sometimes shouting, all through His Word, giving us instructions and principles for life. As we interpret Scripture by other Scripture, we avoid the false logic and misinterpretations that sneak into our world. If someone claims, “God told me to go kill my neighbor!” would you believe him? Of course not! God never violates His own Word or principles. That “voice” does not belong to God. The New Testament was the fulfillment of God’s special plan. It’s the gospel: the good news of Jesus Christ. In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe” Through the words of Jesus in Scripture, we can “hear” God’s heart and God’s voice–and know what God is truly like. These words were not written for a few, select individuals who could jump through the right spiritual hoops. Someone in Africa, in Germany, in China, and in America can “hear” Jesus’ voice by reading the same Bible. Yes, many people hear A voice....but it is NOT Gods voice. He tells us to test ALL the spirits... the voices who speak audibly to us as we pray or read the Word. Anyone who tells you that God spoke to them...is telling you porky pies....lies. They need to be warned not to listen to this voice ....as God does not contradict His Word. He ceased speaking to individuals when Jesus came into His ministry. Jesus and the Father are ONE and Jesus is the heir....the successor...the managing director.....the SOLE adjudicator......the only judge, the only moderator and the only one who answers us....in prayer or through scripture. Jesus alone will speak audibly to us if He wishes to. He spoke to Saul, who became Paul, from heaven, when Paul was on the road to damascus. Paul never met Jesus but he immediately knew who was talking to him.....he addressed Jesus as Lord. . He never saw Jesus either....just a bright light. Why is that ? Because Jesus Himself said....... Matthew 23:39 ► For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. This, of course , is at His second coming....something yet to be fulfilled. So....does he appear to people ? Doesnt look like it....would He contradict His clear Word ? Didnt He say..... Matthew 24:23-24 23 Then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or There He is, do not believe him. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.… Hmmm...also clear...as crystal. If Jesus appeared to me now I would command him ( or should I say it ) to disappear....in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth....because I believe what scripture says. We either do or we dont .......believe Gods breathed Word. I praise God that in 30 years I have never seen Him......for that tells me that the devil KNOWS I cannot be deceived.....either by a physical visitation or through His Word...... Galatians 1: 7-9 …7. which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9. As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!… Saints...let scripture be your guide....not other people preaching a doctrine that Jesus never taught. If HE said it....then it is so. Simple, really.
