How quickly things change. Andrew has been taken to replace the - TopicsExpress

How quickly things change. Andrew has been taken to replace the catheter. What we face now is he had to receive platelets to counteract the aspirin he had been receiving to prevent clotting/stroke for a neck artery that was damaged in the fall. Please GOD let that work! His brain ventricles have become so small-I assume from the salt dumps which push extra fluid out-that they may not be able to replace a catheter that senses the pressure AND allows the brain fluid to drain. My question was what happens with his brain fluid. That would involve another procedure. They also have to figure out if it is spinal fluid (WHICH WOULD BE REALLY BAD) or the fluid that couldnt get out because of the clot which stopped the catheter from working. Fever had gone up again. So RIGHT NOW-pray that this goes well........Joe is driving back from San Antonio on a wing and ALL YOUR PRAYERS that he get back to Andrew and me safely.......and so Tyler knows that Dad is around for him as well. Andrew had to receive platelets and blood already multiple times. Today was the tip off to me about all that have asked what you can do. Want to help? MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY TO GIVE BLOOD/ PLATELETS (I think that is three hours-and you might have to give blood first before they determine if you are a good candidate for the platelets.) See it through....get to the platelet stage. (Forgive the creative spelling.) Channeling my inner Tyler-DO IT! DO IT NOW! Somebody that gave platelets last week, the week before-depending on shelf life-saved Andrews life today. Without the platelets he would bleed out at this point. Full Recovery Prayers. Pretty Please.
