How so many take this out of context, that Jesus ate with publicans and sinners. So they think they can witness in bars, preach at Hooters, and hangout in places lost people do. But I got one for you that you cant miss quote, II John 9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. God speed means God bless you. Or you could say, Come out from among them and be ye separate, II Cor.6:17. Those publicans and sinners came to where Jesus was because they didnt like where they were, and Jesus did not go to their place. They sat down with Him, He did not sit down with them. This was showing what He came to do, to die for the sinner and forgive their sin. We cant forgive any ones sin, and we must realize that we can fall into any sin.at any time, if we go where we shouldnt or hangout with those who we shouldnt, as Paul said in Rm.12:3, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, or how about take heed lest ye fall. Dont try to excuse sin, or buff yourself up and think you can handle it.
