How the Hell did this happen right smack in the middle of Ye Olde Abingdons coveted Ye Merry Olde Historical District??? Someone painted an historic buildings (formally the home of Hidden Memories Antiques) front facade facing Main Street with bright red paint!!!!! In the photo on the right, the old Withers Hardware building, two buildings down the street, sans red paint shows what the natural color of the old weatherworn and historical bricks look like. Also in the photo on the left one can see what the original bricks look like on the side of the building. And the Historical Association and the town Planning Commission rubber stamped this? Shucks, well then, why not paint every building in town a different color like, blue, purple, yellow, green, orange, blue, pink, you name it, even with Polka dots..Why not? They already have the bright red building.
