How to Better Manage Your Own Construction Business... Sign Up for The Turner School of Construction Management! Turner Construction Company and NJIT, are sponsoring a six-week comprehensive training series entitled, “Turner School of Construction Management: Management Training for Emerging Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses.” This program will meet the 2nd Thursday of every month starting early April. The program consists of courses which educate small, minority and women contractors on how to better manage their own construction businesses, and includes topics on management, contracts, accounting, insurance, bonding, estimating, and bidding, among others. Turner Construction Company is hosting the series, teaching many of the sessions using their own internal workforce, and collaborating with construction partners to provide additional industry knowledge. Turner is collaborating with partners: NJIT, Surety Bonding Association (sba), OSHA, and Ethics Training & Consulting LLC, NJ Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and NJ Small Business Resource Centers on this program. The training program will be held on the NJIT Campus in Newark. Sessions will be conducted from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The final session of this series will be a graduation and networking event. Individuals who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion at graduation and the knowledge that will hopefully lead them to enter into the growing talent pool of qualified subcontractors. Turner is currently accepting applications to this program.
