How to Develop Your Sixth Sense ¨`*☆.`❥ Our sixth sense or intuitive abilities are as powerful and beneficial as any of our other senses; even more so in some instances. Recognizing and developing our intuition adds a whole new dimension to our lives empowering us with confidence. Everyone receives intuitive information every day, so in reality we are all intuitive! We receive these messages in four different ways, which we explore in my classes. They are claircogniance (this is when you know something without knowing how), clairvoyance (where you see things in your mind’s eye and are very visual), clairaudience (where you hear things with your mind’s ear or possibly with your physical ears), and clairsentience (when you feel a physical sensation somewhere in your body). Each person is initially predisposed to receive information through one particular method. What intimidates some of my students is that they discount any messages as just their own thoughts and therefore feel inadequate. The ways we explore intuition in my animal communication classes are through claircogniance (this is when you know something without knowing how), clairvoyance (where you see things in your mind’s eye and are very visual), clairaudience (where you hear things with your mind’s ear or possibly with your physical ears), and clairsentience (when you feel a physical sensation somewhere in your body). The caveat here is that these intuitive messages are very subtle and are often not recognized without training. Here is how you can develop your sixth sense through your other senses. Sense of Sight When you walk into a strange room take a moment and concentrate on what you immediately see. What is the focal point? Then take a breath and see the accessories on the tables, close your eyes and see them in your mind. Next notice any dust, type of fabric on the furniture, what is the theme of the art work? You will notice the longer you look with a quiet mind the more you will see in the room. Soon, from your sight you will get a feeling from the room, cozy, homey, stark, business like. Adding your sixth sense to sight you can look into some one’s eyes and see happiness or pain in them or if they are truthful. Sense of Hearing Begin to recognize when you are tuning out repetitive sounds like the planes flying overhead or traffic. Go outside; listen for the leaves in the trees moving, how many different kinds of bird sounds you can hear. Close your eyes and you can hear much more. Adding your sixth sense to hearing might be hearing a person’s voice or an animal’s name in your mind. There is always a reason for this. You might need to make contact with them or their owners or they might just be thinking of you to feel close. Sense of Smell Noticing subtle smells can take practice because we constantly tune out smells. Go outside and through your sense of smell only ascertain if the earth is dry or damp, has the grass been mowed or is something decaying. Adding your sixth sense to smell you will notice when an odor is out of place like smelling fabric softener when you’re not doing laundry or damp earth when the weather is dry. I have found lost animals by noticing an unusual aroma. Sense of Feeling or Touch Our skin can feel if the sun goes behind a cloud, if a breeze comes up or the smallest insect lands on it. Emotions can raise goose bumps on it. Our whole body’s sense of kinetic feel is so much more intuitive than most of us realize. Not all discomfort we feel comes from our body, sometimes we actually think of someone and feel the other person’s discomfort. We just don’t know it is not ours. Our body listens to our subconscious mind. Often we wonder why we reacted to a person by folding our arms and shutting them out or wanting to move closer to them. Listening to the subtle messages from our bodies and watching how other people are reacting can help us in many different situations. ~ Naomi McDonald naomibmcdonald
