How to END a relationship without hurting the other person? The easiest way to break up is to tell him/her that you want to end the relationship. However, this may not always work and the other person refuses to take you seriously. Here are few tips to convey the message in a subtle way. Avoid communication Refuse all forms of communication - phone calls, texting, Whatsapping – making it difficult for the person to get in touch with you. When there is lack of communication it will send a message that you have no time for him/her. But be prepared with vague excuses like - I misplaced my phone, or was out with friends. Say goodbye to affectionate words Avoid saying affectionate words like I love you or I miss you. Dont show your appreciation for the person or that you value him/her. If you refuse to acknowledge the person the message will drive home. Also bid adieu to thanks and pleases Dont initiate a conversation When you meet have nothing to say. Dont initiate a conversation and let him/her do all the talking. Even when the two of you are out with friends, avoid talking to him/her while you talk to everyone else, then talk to the person after having spoken to everyone else. This will make the person wonder whether he/she is the right fit for you. Stay away from physical affection Starve the person of physical affection if you had been generous earlier. You can only afford quick hugs, ruffling hair or pats on the back. The person will start questioning as to why the two of you are in the relationship. Voice your dislike Tell the person in clear terms about things you dislike about him/her. Criticize, complain about things you dont like. Complain about his cologne or the car he drives. Criticize her tight dress or her make-up being too loud for a casual house party. This will make them see red as people dont like to be questioned about their lifestyle.
