How to Live the Life God Blesses (Matt - TopicsExpress

How to Live the Life God Blesses (Matt 5:6-10) ----------------------------------------------- Pastor David continued the series about the Sermon on the Mount. He reminds us that pure joy builds and develops when we embody the righteousness of God. The deer panting for water in Ps 42 is a hunted deer that is desperate for water. Are we truly hungry (desperate) for righteousness as God defines it (not as we define it)? So many people strive for something that will make their life better, but it is a lie. Only Jesus satisfies us. Do we want to live our life for an illusion?. We need to embody the reality of righteousness, right here and now. Wait on God for justice and don’t take things into our own hand. We should be generous and forgiving, act justly, love faithfulness, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8). But we need to be careful not to say that someone’s sin is OK, because that would be like saying that God’s way is wrong. We are God’s ambassador in people’s lives. When a fellow believer hurts us, rather than make them pay, we need to forgive them because we are family. We are by no means perfect, but are we growing to become more like Jesus? When we pursue the life God has for us, we might miss out on some things that the world has to offer, but God says that our place in His kingdom is secured. Suggested application: -- Become desperate for God and His way. -- Do the next right thing … and then the one after that. Love Jesus so much that we do what He wants us to do. -- Let God show through your life even when it is not popular because it is the right thing to do.
