How to Lose weight the Islamic way? Islam is a religion like no other. It educates man to lead a sinless life in all forms. There is nothing left out of Islam-the religion of peace and tranquility; From a simple thing such as the method of eating or drinking until a major thing such as ruling a country. And there is no doubt that the process of loosing weight hasn’t been left out of this great religion. Prophet Muhammad’s dietary practices. From early times it can be seen that Muslims have followed a healthy diet. This can be clearly evinced by this saying of Hazrat Omar (RA),”To speak less is wisdom and to eat less is healthy”. This shows that eating less has been considered as a healthy habit from ancient times. It has been reported that the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had strongly disliked the habit of eating too much. Once Muhammad (PBUH) said, “The worst vessel which a son of Adam fillsis his stomach”. He had also instructed his companions to eat only when they are hungry. At the same time Muhammad (PBUH) has said that the minimum amount one should consume is the amount needed to keep his back straight and the maximum should be the amount which will fill one-third of his stomach. Muhammad (PBUH) ate using only three of his fingers so that only a minimum amount will be consumed. Also he has advised us to chew the food well, because it will aid in digestion and decrease the amount ofcalories in taken. Salah and Ramadan. Salah, which has been made a must for all Muslims, can be considered as an excellent type aerobic exercise. It helps in digestion and relieves stress thus assisting to sustain a balanced glucose level. Ramadan, the ninth month of Islam is indeed a blessed and holy month. Themain objective of Ramadan is to acquire the pleasure of Allah and to feel the hunger of the poor as if it’s your own. Yet loosing ones weight can be considered as an additional advantage. It has been recently found in UAE that fasting shows a positive effect on the lipid profile thus reducing the cholesterol in the blood. Following are some other extra benefits of fasting. *.Purification of the brain. *.looking younger. *.Rejuvenation of the body etc. Though there exists different weight loss methods in the modern world, yet by following the Islamic method ofloosing weight, it will not only helps to maintain the body in a healthy manner, but at the same time it will also helps to gain the pleasure of the Almighty Allah
