How to Pray? It is of no consequence how you address God in - TopicsExpress

How to Pray? It is of no consequence how you address God in prayers. You may or may not say God, Lord or Mother. Worshiping God this or that way, or where, is also immaterial. This could be your Sunday best in temple or naked in a cemetery; banging away drums or silent satsang. What is worth considering is what is gained by your prayers. The mind and intellect is to recede inwards progressively till it remains still. There is then a direct apprehension of the Self. Therefore, the prime purpose is to purify one’s mind and heart; to improve the power of understanding and the ability to contemplate on one’s Self. This should be the prayer process and outcome. It should come effortlessly from your own heart and not from some manual or guidebook that stipulates procedures and names which is not comprehended easily. Prayers are pleasant when it emanates from your own heart and your words. It makes you realize the true nature of Consciousness or Chaitanya. All the powers of creation, preservation and destruction belong to this Chaitanyam. In truth therefore, prayers proceed from Chantanyam and is preserved by it. We seek redress by understanding this One as That without form and names. Om Prem Shaanti :-)
