How to apply for an Invitation to Cederberg 100km Traverse: After succumbing to both immense peer pressure and an overwhelming desire to beat said peer, I would really love to take part in your Cederberg Traverse race. I should point out that I have broken a bone every year for the last 4 so my CV isnt amazing, but Im going to try dig deep into my bag of running results/life experience. - In my final year of school I was selected to participate in the Cape Schools Running Festival. My team and I won the 2nd stage of the 3 day event. - I have done the Kings category at your Mast Challenge 3 times - And although this is 90km shorter than Cederberg, it does show some degree of bravery/stupidity in stepping up to challenges. - In 2012 I was the youngest runner to complete the Two Oceans Ultra. - I went to the same school as Ryan Sandes. - I have been an avid mountain bike racer for the last 5 years and so Im not unfamiliar with long hours out in the mountains. - Apart from that, Ive done some half marathons, and hours just jogging around the trails of Cape Town pretending Im Kilian Jornet. I know the Cederberg mountains like the back of my hand. I have been holidaying there twice a year since I was a laaitie. I plan to run it with my buddy, Matt. He spends more time running than not running and has done basically every race the Cape has to offer. Hes essentially a Kenyan runner and, like me, a purist with a love for the mountains. On top of that were very childish, have a sense of humour that will get us further than Energade, and generally just love running and spending time out on the trails with nature. I like to think I have, and Matt and I as a pair, have what it takes to do the Cederberg Traverse in an acceptable time.
