In this guide, well walk you through the steps of installing Android 4.4 KitKat on your Windows XP/Vista/7/8 PC, complete with Googles Play Store, in what we think is an easy-to-follow manner. Step #1 For starters, head over to BlueStacks homepage and click the download button to get its app player. 2. Step #2 After youve clicked the green download button, youll be redirected to another page confirming the download. The installer will start downloading. 3. Step #3 After the download is finished, just open the .exe file and follow the straightforward installation instructions as shown. You can choose a different folder for the installation if you have to. 4. Step #4 Installation may take up to a few minutes, depending on your configuration. A modern mid-range tower will need about 1 or 2 minutes. 5. Step #5 Once the installation is complete, the BlueStacks app will auto-start and initialize. Again, this may take a while (depending on your PCs specs), so sit tight if on an older machine. 6. Step #6 Alright, initialization is complete and the image on the left is what youll see immediately. If you wait for a while, BlueStacks will auto-download the needed files for it to communicate properly with app stores, but you can force this if you dont feel like waiting or its not auto-downloading for some reason. Just click on any one app icon. 7. Step #7 Once youve clicked on an apps icon, an error box will appear, warning you that a Market was not found. Okay the prompt and a file will begin downloading. 8. Step #8 As soon as the aforementioned file finishes downloading, your PC-bound Android installation will upgrade and optimize existing apps. This is normal. 9. Step #9 Alright, so the upgrade finished, and now youll want to add your Google account in order to access Google services, including the Play Store. Just follow the outlined steps on your left (zoom in if you have to): Go to All apps > BlueStacks Settings > Advanced Settings > +Add account. 10. Step #10 Youve probably gone through this setup at least a few times before, but next up you want to choose to create a Google account and then youll have to enter your credentials and proceed. 11. Step #11 Alright! Were almost done for good. Next up, youll want to start downloading apps. Thats easy, but the first app download will put you through a very short, one-time setup process. To find an app, just click the Search button on the top left and input its name. We recommend you stick to Googles Play Store (a button will appear under your search results, always use that one and not the icons available above it). 12. Step #12 As promised, yet another setup process. Simply okay the prompt and log into your Google account again as shown. 13. Step #13 Done! Agree to the final prompt. 14. Step #14 Aaaand voilà!
