How to photography Tigers (animals) crossing ===================================== There are two important settings in the camera you need to watch out for when a Tiger(any mammal / subject) is crossing the road or your path in front of you. If you use the centre focusing point then from a composition point of view the Tiger head will be at the centre of the frame and the body may get cut at the back with a lot more room in the front. Depending on the size of the Tiger in the frame you will have to move the focusing point to the left of the frame (in this case) so that the face of the Tiger is to the left of the frame and you can cover more of the body in the frame. I am posting two images here - one regular and the other one with the focusing points and you can see the red square which was my focusing point. I used single focusing point in this case. The other important setting in the camera is to ensure you are on AI Servo (or AF-C for Nikon) so that you can continuously focus the moving Tiger... From an actual composition perspective, not a great image as the back end of the body is cut and the out of focus tree in the back....but wanted to post this to convey the point. Another proper example will be posted in the evening to convey another aspect depending on the size of the Tiger in the frame. Feel free to share.
