How to tell if your phone is being tapped: Call: 202-543-9994... You will hear a long tone that you must listen to carefully. If it is a long steady monotone then your phone is not tapped. If you hear breaks or skips in the tone, your phone may currently be tapped. I just tried this and, surprise surprise, all kinds of breaks and skips in the tone. I knew before I even attempted it. Other signs that data transfers are occuring without your knowledge include: high battery temperature even after not being in use for several hours, phone is not staying charged like it normally does as there are extra data transfers occurring, delays in the "shut down" process (back light remaining on after shut down, refusal to shut off as a tap or program is still running without your consent). On occasion your phone screen lights up without receiving a call, text, or other notification. Programs are installed on their own without consent etc.... Can you avoid this them taking your information? Yes. Through call and data encryption apps that are readily available on app markets, most are free.
