How tragic that the US Atty General feels the need to document, in writing, to Russia (OF ALL NATIONS!!!!), that if they return a suspect to the US, we won’t torture them. I can never forgive Bush for starting this, nor Obama (even if he has stopped it) for not clearly outlawing it (and remember it took Rand Paul’s filibuster to get Obama to finally state that he would not use a drone, on US soil, to kill a US citizen who was not posing an immediate threat and who had never been charged with any crime… which he apparently thought he had the right to do). McCain got this one right at the start “The US doesn’t torture people. Period.” Amen to that. This should not require a letter of clarification.
