How was your weekend Bangor? A chill is in the air and the official notice came out today that we are going to be switching over to winter uniforms soon. Lt. Bishop broke the news to Officer Aaron Brooker that the beaver pelt lid was not on the official list of approved head gear. Brooker said it was fully acceptable when he was at Millinocket P.D. and claimed that he made it himself. Nope, sorry Brooker. As for our weekend here; the men and women of the Bangor Police Department were busy with multiple arrests and calls throughout. I decided to take a snapshot of Saturday night to mention a few events that made it special. On Saturday night at 0027hrs. Sgt. Angelo and Officer John Hermanson responded to a downtown nightclub to aid them in removing a patron that over indulged in spirits. Upon their arrival, Hermanson noted the man had already been removed, by them, from another establishment. When they told the man to move along and warned him not to return, he left. Exactly 10 minutes later he returned. He was arrested. He advised Hermanson that if, you just let me go, you wont lose your job. Hermanson did not let him go and he was taken to jail. Hermanson is still employed. At 0116 a gentleman in downtown Bangor left an establishment in his motor vehicle and while doing so struck another vehicle parked nearby. Deciding it best to continue on his journey the man was stopped as he exited the parking area by Bangor Police officers. When stopped he told them that he did not want to lie and that he should not be driving due to the fact that he was over the limit. Field sobriety testing was done and it was discovered that the man was correct. He was arrested by Officer Hermanson and charged with operating under the influence. He was taken to jail. At 0131 on Main Street, Officer Kyle Pelkey observed a motor vehicle operating with only three inflated tires, the fourth being flat. He stopped the motorist on State Street and found out that the woman had hit a curb on her way home from a local establishment. She said that she had several large beers. She believed she had caused the flat tire on her way home by driving over a curb unintentionally. Field sobriety testing was completed and the woman was arrested for operating under the influence and taken to jail. At 0146 Bangor officers responded to an alarm at the William Cohen School on Garland Street. Upon their arrival they discovered that a window had been smashed out with a brick. Upon entering the building to search Officer Jamie Fanning found that the suspect had used a leather belt to secure the doors behind him while he had a nap behind a trash can. He appeared to have been drinking but did not recall exactly how he made entry. He also was not sure why he made entry, believing that he might have been cold. In any event he was taken to the jail and charged with violation of conditional release, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. There were more as the weekend continued. Have a great Monday night everyone. Thank you so much for following our page. We are very close to 28 thousand likes and if you have not already, please give our page a click. We will be here!
