How would it feel to have a total stranger come up to you and tell - TopicsExpress

How would it feel to have a total stranger come up to you and tell you your dreams, goals, hopes and desires arent possible? How would it feel to have 40,000 people tell you the same thing- EVERY DAY? Would you be more or less likely to follow though on your dreams if this happened EVERY SINGLE DAY? The average person has over 50K thoughts a day (women probably more, men probably less ) Of those thoughts, in the average person, 80% of them are negative... I cant, I shouldnt, What would they think, Im not qualified, smart, pretty, thin enough..., Im over qualified, too pretty, too young, too old, too fat...etc. Most of us dont realize it but we do more internal damage to ourselves with self-talk than what comes in from the outside. Many of us beat ourselves up from the inside out, wishing hoping and wanting something different and not understanding why it is so hard to create or maintain the life they really desire to live. Here is why: Youve heard the saying, nothing changes until nothing changes.... In this case, until the inside changes, the outside (experiences) will stay relatively the same. You see, if 80 % of the 50K thoughts the average person thinks is negative, self-defeating or disempowering, then you might as well invite 40,000 people to come over and tell you that you suck, your dreams arent possible and you should just settle for what they think is possible for you then give up on your dreams. So, what do you do? One thing I found helpful was just focusing on reversing the ratio from 80/20 to 20/80, meaning allow yourself moments to reflect and learn but empower yourself with self-reflection, self-forgiveness, self-love, self-understanding, self-trust and self-empowerment. Love yourself by being AWARE of what you say to yourself, then choose to be easy on you by treating yourself with the same care, nurturing, love and understanding you would treat your child or someone you love so dearly and completely. Once you notice what you are telling yourself, decide what you can tell yourself differently. What do you want your truth to be? What is the polar opposite of what you were just saying to yourself? Over time, you believe what you tell yourself over and over again, so if you want to feel differently, think differently. If you want to think differently, take time to understand, accept, love, trust and nurture yourself with thoughts of kindness and empowerment. Wishing you a terrific and empowering Thursday.
