How would you feel if you were photo-shopped? I am amazed at the number of times I see a photo of someone and then meet them in person and it doesnt even feel like the same person. Often I see old photographs used and not current day representations, as if they are not proud of who they are now. When I first was doing my website, I actually was asked if I wanted my photo modified a bit to make me look better. I said no. Ive learned also that your photo carries a certain energy to it and you need to be very conscious of this. What is the energy you are trying to convey with your photo. This is a bit of a doubled edged sword as a friend here shared with me that she really feels like a free living person (and we laugh - hippy at heart), but in her line of business which is dominated by men, no-one took her very seriously. So she had to bite the bullet. When I first met her, I couldnt believe it was the same person when I started to talk to her. The good thing is that she knows its a mask she has to wear and doesnt get lost under it. So, ladies (and men)... we are fine to wear makeup but how far would you go if you were to put in a public article or magazine. Would you want to be photoshopped. Personally, Id just be happy with someone who knew how to do my makeup so it was natural looking and gave me a funky hairdo with my pixie hair cut that I have. But.. thats just me.
